There's breaking news today on two of the important cases potentially headed towards the Supreme Court.
DOMA has ONCE AGAIN been found unconstitutional.

Her decision in the case, Pederson v. Office of Personnel Management, reads in part:
"...the Court need not apply a form of heightened scrutiny in the instant case to conclude that DOMA violates the promise of the equal protection as it is clear that DOMA fails to pass constitutional muster under even the most deferential level of judicial scrutiny."
Meanwhile, supporters of California's Prop 8 are asking the Supreme Court to keep the discriminatory ban in place and reverse the appeals court decision that struck down the amendment.

Whether the Supreme Court will take on the case remains to be seen.
But it looks to be an exciting upcoming year as both the DOMA and Prop 8 cases wind their ways through the courts.
