The Vermont Freedom to Marry Task Force (VFMTF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to gaining civil marriage equality for same-sex couples in Vermont. VFMTF formed in 1996 as a coalition of individuals and associations in Vermont who support the freedom for same-sex couples to enter into civil marriages. We work throughout the state to educate Vermonters about the importance of civil marriage equality for same-sex couples and their families. In doing so, we do the following:
Education and outreach
Volunteer recruitment, training and development
Legislative lobbying
Grassroots lobbying, including online advocacy, field organizing, and legislative contact by supporters
Collaboration with allied organizations
Media Relations
Production and distribution of educational DVD
The Vermont Freedom to Marry Action Committee, Inc. (VFMAC) is a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization dedicated to
full civil marriage equality for same-sex couples in Vermont. VFMAC lobbies for the fair and inclusive treatment of same-sex
couples in Vermont's marriage laws. In doing so, we do the following:
Legislative lobbying
Grassroots lobbying, including online advocacy, field organizing, and legislative contact by supporters
Engagement in campaign activities
Issue advocacy
You may contribute to the Vermont Freedom to Marry Task Force or The Vermont Freedom to Marry Action Committee. Making a donation to either organization will go towards gaining full civil marriage equality for same-sex couples in Vermont.
