As guardians of our most precious legal and constitutional rights, lawyers bring a special voice to the  conversation about the freedom to marry. This Declaration gives us an opportunity to bring the collective voice of Vermont's legal community together, and to demonstrate the breadth and depth of support for full civil rights within the Vermont Bar. We expect to use the Declaration and list of signatories in published ads, communications with candidates and public officials, outreach to bar organizations, and in other ways that may advance the goals of genuine equality.
